The cast of Community was clear that they wouldn’t be a part of CNN Films’ I’m Chevy Chase and You’re Not.

Marina Zenovich, the filmmaker behind the authorized documentary on Chase, 82, attempted to get the actor-comedian’s Community cast members to participate in the doc. Ultimately, “every single person said no,” Zenovich told Variety.

“I was initially disappointed that we didn’t get more people from Community, but there are things people don’t want to talk about,” said Zenovich.

I’m shocked that a conceited 82 year old had difficulties communicating with a cast 50 years younger than himself. Shocked I tell you.

Fair enough. I was always taught that if you can’t think of anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

The problem isn’t that Chevy Chase is a dickhead, the problem is that he’s totally unrepentant about being a dickhead. He literally doesn’t care that other people think he’s an asshole. No self-awareness, accountability, or atonement whatsoever. When he finally kicks it, you’re going to be hard-pressed to find anyone who will say anything sincerely nice about him.

    6. Chevy hosted SNL when Will Ferrell was a cast member. Will and other cast members said Chevy was a giant douche to them.

    7. He’s really not well liked. Lol

Imagine having this volume of work that’s extraordinary spanning back decades…..and towards the end, everyone just calls you out for being an insufferable prick.

Quote I read in another article:

      >The comedian gets snarly at the top of filmmaker Marina Zenovich’s “I’m Chevy Chase and You’re Not,” which airs Thursday on CNN. During their very first meeting, he warns her it isn’t going to be easy to figure him out. She asks him why.
      >
      >“You’re not bright enough, how’s that?” he replies.

All I needed to read to know I have zero interest in watching this ever.

    9. I finally watched the Christmas Vacation movie and he seemed just as annoying as I expected. The title is just as obnoxious and self centered as he is. Barf

    10. I do enjoy the way people online react to Chevy as if he personally showed up to their homes and slapped their mothers.

I don’t think he’s funny. Never has . There was alway someone who did what he does but better in every way. He got lucky cause he was tall and probably intimidated the right people.

The problem for Pierce is he’s not enough like Chevy and the problem for Chevy is he’s too much like Pierce.

    13. Everything I have learned about Chevy makes me believe that he has some kind of undiagnosed personality disorder or something. There is no way, aside from something pathological, that makes you such a huge dick.

I recently re-watched the first 10 or so seasons of SNL and you can easily see how great Chevy thinks he is in that first season or so. Lorne seemed to agree, b/c he was in just about everything. It was also clear he thought the show was beneath him. While Chevy was good, he was far from the best cast member and when he left it felt like the show was just fine without him. Then he’d try to come back and it just felt awkward and unfunny. Chevy is and always will be that guy who thought he was greater, sexier, funnier and more bankable than anyone else did.

    15. It’s fascinating to me how Community was essentially exactly what he needed for a redemption arc and he came out of it seeming like an even bigger asshole than before. No one else has so badly squandered their opportunities.

Not worth the trouble. Anything negative would be aired. I know he’s not good, but it’s over and done with for them. Don’t need to pile on to a thing. He’s out of the business, and hes just a douche. Oh well. Joel McHale has been public before. Doesn’t need to rehash it

    17. There are so many genuinely bad people in the entertainment industry. Chevy Chase might be an asshole who says off-color shit, but I really don’t think he’s racist. I think his mouth gets away from him.

I get it how everyone is hating on the guy in this moment, but there are so many more relevant fish to fry than Chevy Chase.

I mean, keep perspective, an old cantankerous privileged famous white guy got mad and said the n-word. That shit is happening everyday.

Meanwhile, the orange shitstain and real life Grima Wormtongue (Miller, but several to choose from) are putting the entire world at risk.

I mean, what appeal would that hold? Chase’s departure kind of destroyed the show. He was absoutely a burden on the crew from all accounts. What would that perspective bring to a documentary about Chase that would make anything in their lives better?

Chevy recently said he was in a coma for 8 days due to a heart complication. In a totally unrelated fact, Chevy Chase has a record of not being an asshole for 8 days.

In other news, 90% of his costars from the rest of his body of work said he’s a dick too.
