It’s not AI. It’s the dire situation of the economy. The only thing that keeps the macro figures speaking about recession is the AI bubble. Every firm with two neurons to rub together is bracing for the blow when AI bubble finally pops.
Uhh, this sounds like a handful of graduates thought they were entitled to an immediate, high-paying, dev job JUST because they got CS degree from Standford.

The job market for tech SUCKS right now – and it’s especially depressing, watching business and marketing professions thrive while objectively failing with laze and arrogance. But „golden-ticket“? Make a github account, and make some open source project contributions. Make yourself valuable.
And it’s not just about the graduates. Think about people who graduated some years before and can now be easily replaced by Ai.

Don’t worry guys, I just saw an AI puff piece on the Today Show this morning. If you want a job in the future, you have to be an electrician. That is of course before the AI robots are created and become robot electricians.

They interviewed one international student from Turkey. It’s likely that it took a while for her to get hired because she would need H1B sponsorship and the Trump admin just changed the rules to raise the cost on companies.

Tech companies in general haven’t been interested in hiring and training juniors for quite some time.
That said, idk if it’s the same with the prestigious US universities, but in the UK employers are becoming increasingly aware of how useless Oxbridge graduates are for „real jobs“. Apparently they’re not taught to self-learn to or self-start like undergrads are at basically any other UK university.
It will be really fun to see people blame everything on AI in the future. And with fun I mean excruciatingly annoying.
That being said I’m having a nasty cold right now. I bet it’s because of those pesky AIs.
News flash: Software development has never really been about formal educations. Not in the past, not now.
It’s certainly AI and not the US having the possibly the worst economic president we’ve ever had.
It’s not AI. It’s reckless and irresponsible executives that will burn the economy down just to make their next quarter look good and then ride their golden parachute down to their private island.
