Be aware that this would make most actual Germans shudder 😀

Only in germany you got weirdos being repulsed by their own flag and trying to stop others from displaying it and putting labels on them for it. Don’t listen to these weird ass chronically online redditors.

Thanks for normalizing the German Flag…
Unbelievable people connect the German flag with racism etc….

Great that you found a place you love, but be careful with stuff like that. Some germans are a bit sensitive when it comes to patriotism and even stuff like this can make you appear like a right-wing extrimist to some.

You’re going to make the wrong kind of german friends with this kind of motivation. Patriotism is extremely stigmatized over here. Probably wrong, but I’d put you into this category: „I am not a Nazi, but […]“ just because you are painting German flags for a hobby. It comes from experiencing this kind of behaviour only from people with very questionable views on the country. I wish it wasn’t like that, but your post sais that to me.

Patriotic behavior is viewed much different over here as most right wing parties practice it. The german flag is pretty much just tolerated ehfn we have football cups.
I get this is not your intention, but just a word of warning as the people who celebrate our flag snd being german as something to be proud of are the ones who tend to swing more to the fascist side.

so you either love the germanic language, or „make love“ how the germans do.
pro tip: at least learn the language before becoming creepily nationalistic for no reason.

To be honest, I am not in the camp of people who mistrust any use of the flag outside of public buildings and pubic acts of elected representatives. I don’t mind people having flags displayed.
But I guess I am too much of a conservative to like the way a teddy bear of all things is plastered with the national flag, the symbol of national unity **and democracy** in Germany, being used as a cheap paint job on a cheap toy. It cheapens the symbol in my opinion.
That being said, in your last picture, the capital first letter is missing and „Deutsch“ is German – the language – not Germany.

Please don’t take these comments to heart, there is no issue in portraying the German flag, everyone does it during the football world championship and during European championship, some people have a little garden they rent (allotment garden?, Schrebergarten) where they portray the flag on a flagpost.
Yes it is often used by extremists and barely used by your average German on day to day life, but having been in contact with foreigners visiting and loving Germany, the likelihood of them liking the German flag or portraying it somewhere is much higher, it’s normal to be into this stuff when your into the country!
