The amazing thing is that this is basically Soviet propaganda – not just the „evil decadent west vs pure and strong ~~communist~~ Orbánist country“ message, but right down to the visual motifs – something Orbán’s core voters, that is, pensioners over 60, are infinitely familiar with and claim to revile. And yet they’re absolutely fine with it coming from Orbán. Because „it’s not the same this time“ „it’s just the truth this time“ etc.

Propaganda can derail entire generations of simps. Intellectually, I get it. But it shouldn’t be capable of making so many people ignore the massive lists of atrocities. These Hungarian farmers might as well be using Ukrainian and Russian bodies for fertilizer, for the lack of empathy they show.

Hungarian here: our education system is in ruins, our healthcare is basically non-existent at this point (6 months wait-time on a ultrasound), regular flat prices are close to or even surpassing the minimum wage… but after 16 years of Fidesz, they still have the gall to say „trust me bro, just 4 more years, I promise, after 4-8 years, the country will be fixed, just trust me brah, evil Brussels and Péter Magyar is the fault for everything, but everything is honky dory, you are living better than ever, but we still need 8-16 years to fix everything that evil WOKE did to us“
