      Atp they should just accept Somaliland as its own nation. It has a functional government unlike Somalia

      Sorry but I really think this sub needs a rule that discourages using colours only and encourages maps that use patterns or other accessible shading…

      It would help this place serve as a positive example because maps like this one are more like a usability nightmare than „map porn“

      Usually, it is the multiethnic countries that struggle with separatist movements. But Somalia is a special case, despite having one dominant ethnicity, it can’t hold itself together.

      Somaliland is just the former British colonized somalia. if french somalia (djibouti) and italian somalia (normal somalia) free, then why not the british one?

      I may be reading it wrong but it is interesting how Somalia manages to control that territory separated from its „mainland“ by Puntland.
