It’s interesting how big the difference between the Dominican Republic and Haiti is, probably the biggest proportional disparity between two bordering countries.

It’s really crazy that Argentina is not far removed from Mexico, given the different histories.
Also, I was under the impression that Chile was a lot better off…

Puerto Rico, Panama, and Dominican Republic all doing pretty good.
Venezuela a disaster considering the oil they have.

GDP tells you how “the economy” is doing, not how people are doing.
“The economy” is made up of corporations, owned mostly by rich people.

Once Venezuela can trade its oil without the US stealing and threatening war to control it, they will be able to significantly improve their current situation.
They have been under siege since Chavez came to power, bullied by both Democrats and Republicans, and now a bloated, demented orange buffoon is in DC threatening war against them for no reason other than greed and arrogance.

How does Canada so rich in oil, lumber, food crops, hydro power, uranium, gold, diamonds mange this negative trick?

The data is off. Looking at the US, it saw a 26% increase in GDP PPP in constant dollars during those 20 years.
Using IMF data in current dollars and the BLS inflation calculator we get 24% growth during the same period. Definitely not 8%. I presume it’s just as bullshit for the other countries as well.
