    1. I think I’m probably a lot more risk-averse than most people, and then there are people like this at the opposite end of the spectrum. I can’t imagine doing something like this and not worrying myself sick.

When I was in elementary school my best friend died on an ATV. The thing flipped and caught onto his helmet and snapped his neck. I hate that this news article is reminding me of that.

No one tried to dissuade this stupid idea? Wonder if the kid is wondering what „Mom“ was thinking when she got her this „gift“?

I’m still stuck on the fact that Jamie Lynn Spears has a 17 yr old daughter 😱 I’m old.

I cant help but hear the song Dueling Banjos when I think of the Spears family.

    6. After my nephew lost a hand and almost his life at 17, that’s enough for us.

    7. Insanity. I almost died on one of these things as a dumb kid. Ran into a tree and flew like 20 feet. Luckily I had a helmet. I never touched one again.

I don’t give a shit about any of these people but I don’t get what’s insane about this. She’s 10 years older and probably more capable of safely operating the vehicle. Most of the smug commenters are really just proudly proclaiming themselves as cowards.

I don’t see anything wrong with this. Most people who have been in car/motorcycle accidents usually end up using those vehicles again. I don’t think this is that much different. She’s older now. She’ll probably be more cautious & have better control over the ATV. It’s probably more of a symbolic gesture about being a survivor who isn’t ruled by fear anyway. Plenty of people who have done gestures like this are celebrated. A lot of you are only harshly critical of Jaime Lynn because she’s Britney’s sister & it’s popular to talk trash about her.

Great parenting, Jamie Lynn! Maybe the child will die this time. Then what?

You guys realize her daughter is old enough to drive now, right?

Meh. Maybe not an ATV, but this happens all the time. If folks stopped giving a shit about these “celebrities” and focusing on what is near and dear to them, they would likely be far better off. Ditch the shit. Reality television, Spears and Cardationes have way too much effect in too many people’s lives

What if she was a surfer, got her arm bitten off by an orca, then got another surfboard and back in the water after recovering?

    14. You think about how Ozzy seemed impervious to everything, and if you really look at it, based on what his family said etc., that ATV accident that he had really messed him up. Sort of a slow roll to a lot of problems. They all said that those orthopedic injuries from that really messed him up and so did all those subsequent surgeries trying to fix it.

“I did have an accident though,“ Maddie said at one point during the video. „I was in a coma, and I came back to life, and I’m very blessed. So yeah, I’ve just been very accident-prone. I swear my parents are amazing and they did not do anything to me.“

A lot of people on here slamming Jaime, so I’ll take a different approach. The kid appears very to be very mature talking about their accident. Maybe they really wanted to ride an ATV again, and her mom granted her wish. Maddie was also only 8 years old when they had an accident (in my opinion way too young to be operating such a powerful vehicle). They’re 17 now, and legally old enough to operate a car.

I remember knocking my front teeth out on a RAZR scooter when I was in junior high 25 or so years ago. Last year I bought an electric scooter to commute to work on, and one day on my way home a car started to drift right into my bike lane so I had to bail and royally fucked my knee. I almost died going 20mi an hour and jumping off onto pavement without wearing a helmet.

I still love riding it and use it to commute to work still. I can’t let an idiot frighten me into living my life.
