How are russians in the baltics (or most minorities on this map), autochhthonous in any way?
Maybe i dont understand the word correctly, but this really confuses me. When is the cutoff for beingf onsidered descendents of migrants/colonists?

Spanish autonomías don’t clearly differentiate between nationalities and regions, as there were a lot of different processes and political reasons for each autonomy to be constituted. In any case, the ones who got approved due to their historical and cultural singularities were Basque Country, Catalonia, Galicia, and maybe you could include Andalucía, which was the 4th region to get the autonomy. Navarra, Valencia and the Canary Islands would get the autonomy a bit later and on pretty different political grounds, when it was clear all of Spanish regions were getting some degree of autonomy. Also, good luck calling „Catalans“ to Valencian people or „Basque“ to a part of Navarran people, you’re in for an argument

It is just a map of non-titular ethnicities, without any „autochtonous“ part, including not only modern-era migrations (like Tver Karelians, Kuban Ukrainians etc), but even XX century ones (e.g. Kazakhs near lower Volga, Russians in Klaipeda or Riga, etc).
And, of course, a typical „minority map“ exagerrations and usage of outdated data.

I wouldn’t call the Saami by that name, just a heads up haha

It uses languages instead of ethnicities in some places (russians in Ukraine).

The kingdom of Valencia was colonized by 70% Catalans and 25% Aragonese. That’s why Catalan is spoken there. But the Valencians stopped feeling Catalan around the 15th century, 500 years ago. The reason is that they lived in a separate kingdom, with their own laws and constitutions. Most of us don’t mind being called Catalan because we are brothers in language and history, but we have to know the current reality and there are very few who consider themselves Catalans today.

If Belgium is fully minorities, then Switzerland should be as well, at the very least French, Italian, Rhaeto-Roman.

There are no „autochtonous russians“ in Ukraine. Those are immigrants of imperial and soviet eras.

I’d ask people from Valencia about how they feel being labeled as Catalans.

Scratch a few russians off the Donbas numbers.

It is quite strange that many Russians live on the border between Russia and Ukraine. At the same time, there are no enclaves on the border between Russia and Belarus, or on the border between Ukraine and Belarus.

I’m curious how people in Alsace feel about being labeled German, they have their own culture and language (which is germanic but not german.

Mixing language with genetics… for sure is a clever idea.

Western Frisian is on the other side of the IJsselmeer. This is just ‘Fryslan’.

Are you on drugs? Navarra for the most part has not ties to Vasques. Navarra was an independent kingdom till 1450. It has little to do with a „Vasque identity“. Also Valencianos and Baleares are not catalans and they dont speak catalan
