      He didn’t though. He just voiced what some wish and then added that actually they want peace which is a greater wish

      „We ask for peace for Ukraine. We fight for it. And we pray for it. And we deserve it,“ Zelenskyy said, adding that Ukrainians wish for every family to live in harmony and for every child to rejoice in gifts, smiles and faith in goodness and miracles.

      Headlines really ran with the “perish” angle, but the full speech was mostly about peace and resilience. Worth reading an official transcript before forming an opinion, translations can really skew tone.

      It would be a shame if Putin had a simple end. I’d personally like to see him kicked to death outside the kremlin.

      He didn’t say he wished him dead, he said all Ukrainians wished him dead. Personally, I think he was quite conservative in his assessment of the situation.

      Again all the media running with something he didn’t say, I sometimes wonder which side they’re on.

      Basically in a nutshell he said we might wish ‚He perishes“ but we rise above it and wish for greater things like peace.
