    1. Just to be clear this isn’t Grok AI (chatbot) from Twitter. This is a different AI related company.

    2. Bubble only getting bigger. Next year, we will hear the first reports of companies who went full on AI „We were hasty“, then people will realise fundamental issues with AI, which isn’t actually intelligent, but an algorithm that can answer and not just present info, you habe to think. At work, we’re encouraged to use AI for daily tasks and checks. First everybody was positively surprised, until some had to check their previous data gathered by AI, by hand. Thanks to hallucinations. Congrats.

    3. Gotta buy out and shut down the competition before they can eat into the bottom line, it’s the American way!

    4. This is fine, groq has gotten decreasingly competitive in regard to pricing and their model lineup is far too prone to change for me to take them seriously.

Maybe Nvidia will make their service worthwhile…. Or they’re just trying to make LPU’s disappear

I’m sure all these gigantic sums of money changing hands buying nothing that makes products that don’t actually make any money are going to be a net positive for the economy.

    6. A 40x multiple on 500M in ARR. Nvidia will have to double the price of Groqs products to make that a profitable acquisition.

    7. It feels like a company buying another for ungodly sums is becoming a daily occurence these days.

    8. God forbid competition.. Hey FTC are you staffed by termites? No, they at least work…

    9. Consolidation is only good for NVIDIA shareholders. Buying out the competition leads to stagnation in development, bad deals for consumers, and happy fat cats at the top. So much for anti-trust laws and the FTC.

So a company that was valued at 7b just months ago with nothing happening since was bought out partially for 20b. That doesn’t sound like bubble spending at all.

    11. It’s not an acquisition, it’s an “acquihire.” Nvidia gets a license to the tech and hires the founders, leaving behind everyone else

it sounds like they are buying the founders for any insights they may have about Tensor

      Om, nom, nom.

      The hyperconsolidation must continue…

Fun stuff alright. They were interesting. … Were.

So… how safe is TensTorrent? I really like those guys.

    14. AI succeeds.. we all lose our jobs and Jensen Huang gets rich.

AI fails… we all lose our jobs and Jensen Huang gets rich.

Fuck this bullshit lol. Fuck all the faux „it’s inevitable“ nonsense and the idea that because a handful of people who are not particularly clever, compassionate, or grounded demand we hasten our falling life quality to make no meaningful difference to their lives.

    15. Chamath & gang sway trump admin to sell H200 to EVERYBODY ==> Jensen & NVIDIA gang happy ==> NVIDIA high ball Groq ==> Major investors of Groq (Chamath & gang) 20x of their investments. What’s not to like FREE MARKET!

    16. Was this announced during after hours or once it ended? I don’t see any spike in price so I assume it was after

    17. chunckybydesign on

This shouldn’t be allowed right? Like this is eliminating competition and innovation, right?

    18. Was it bought? Or „bought“ (with fictional money yet to exist like every other AI transaction)?

    19. Terminate-wealth on

I hope this bubble pops and nvidia goes out of business. They should have never stabbed their customers in the back and sold out to AI.
