Most of them probably made the mental bet Trump was in there, but in the same way Bill Clinton was…super friendly but nothing outright criminal, just morally icky.
But the problem is, each time another reference to Trump gets revealed, it gets harder and harder to hold that line.
They are also aware, its actually not unreasonable a single accusation is made up, or not legitimate…but its less and less reasonable with each additional accusation that they are *all* made up
So they are quickly running out of talking points.

The stupidity of his loyalists will be discussed in classrooms for decades to come, and their children when learning about it will say ‚were you a fan of Trump?‘ to their parents who will say ’no, never liked the guy‘
