You don’t have to be that mean to me…

    Could’ve called me a petite 100-tonne fatberg.

Been a while since OPs mom had come round, nice to see someone found her

After having my own pipes clog after years of use, I am incredibly careful to not pour anything down the sink. Wipe out your pans, drain grease into a beer can, and save yourself a plumber call.

Look, I don’t like James Corden either, but „fatberg“ is a little rude.

I live in Canada. I sometimes get lazy and want to pour greasy things (food juices, liquid oils, etc) down the kitchen drain. My mom said these absolutely need to be disposed of in the compost, not just poured down the drain like dirty water. I have also read some news articles about how they either cost homeowners tens of thousands, or they cost the city millions when the plumbing or the city sewer systems get blocked by these things.

  6. Sounds to me like a good idea for a Doctor Who episode:
Doctor climbs down into the sewers, sees the fatberg, „Oh hello beautiful!“ Intro music begins

can’t believe trump went spelunking during the holidays; so much for being a family man.

What do they do with it after extraction? I know who’d buy it for a dollar, China!

In the article they are blaming the increased frequency of fatberg clogs on the holidays – but I wonder if it doesn’t have more to do with colder temps causing fats to congeal more.

I was reading Warhammer 40 k and fatburgs are the main ingredient in some delicacy called scrape

Surely they can harvest it for some kind of use right? Perhaps it can be used as fuel for the winter, I heard people are freezing over there.

  12. It’s pretty easy to keep a container to pour fats and oils into. Then dispose of them with your trash, or burn them in the fire pit like we do. Makes for a nice hot fire for a while and really gets the woo going!
