Someone sounds a little jealous… /s
The US GDP is 80% or so services. That’s what AI is gunning for
IBM, Databricks, and a set of others were too early…
They are pre revenue. Its fine.
Okay but they do have revenue
One brillant fucker in all these fucking retard techno bro
This is giving me „Pregnant Katherine Schwarzenegger takes a walk“ energy but for tech news. CEO of company says other companies that aren’t making money might be in trouble. Groundbreaking journalism.
But he’s not wrong. The amount of AI companies getting insane valuations while burning through cash with no clear path to actual revenue is wild. We’ve seen this movie before. Remember when every company was pivoting to blockchain? Or adding „.com“ to their name in the 90s?
This guy actually runs a profitable company so he’s not just being a hater. Though I’m sure there’s some competitive motivation there too – easier to compete when your competitors implode from running out of funding
Anyone recall ~24 years ago when the dotcom bubble burst… cause there were tons of well-funded start-ups with no actual decent revenue stream?
Good times, good times.

He’s trying to separate himself from the people who could cause a lot of political/legal turmoil if there is indeed a bubble.
Nevertheless, they host those LLMs on Databricks, lol
Databricks is killing it. Good for them.
I’m baffled that SpaceX is valued at $800 billion. Who comes up with that insane valuation?
He’s probably tired of competing with the AI companies for investment while he’s planning their Series M….
I saw it put this way: private equity was an experiment in making money without a product or service and it seems to have paid off for the rich. Now AI is an experiment in making money without customers or employees
I’ve been thinking about this and this “AI” bubble is like military R&D departments spending billions and hoping the research pans out lol
Makes sense that all these companies are trying to get government contracts.
100% this and their greatest problem (which most seem to gloss over) is the ‚***extremely poor quality of AI output, across the vast majority of use cases’*** makes it worthless and of very little to no value and thus will never generate revenue.
They are trying to en masse dumb down society and make them accepting of such ***horrendously poor quality products*** but the majority are waking up and are not happy with the utter shit that is the ***’current renditions of AI’*** run by a bunch ‚grifting Tech bros‘ conning the shit out of the naive and gullible until they can ***’make bank’*** from an IPO. They just have to ***’fake it till they make it‘ till*** the IPO release but with such widespread frustration, anger and hate building towards AI being thrust upon us at every possible opportunity and it’s very aggressive abuse of IP, copyright, exploitation of laws and the disruption and impairment of critical services (water, energy, etc.) to established residences when the DATA centers are being built I can envision the IPO being one of the greatest flops in human history. There are going to be so many law suits if they ever go IPO that the companies are going to be tied up for decades trying to defend their extremely shitty conduct.
The NVIDIA CEO is all about AI for military use now, so I guess that’s a source for money. US don’t know what their money is going to, there’s no audit; secret programs, UFOs and whatnot
All he’s saying is ‘aren’t these $1b+ valuations insane if they don’t have customers?’ Which i think is fair
The bubble thing – yeah i get it – but it’s a reasonable point considering how much the US is betting on data/AI companies and subsidizing them in many ways
