Condemnation without action is meaningless. While statements are issued, people continue to die, suffer, and lose their basic dignity.
If Canada truly wanted to take a principled stand, concrete action is available. Real estate expos selling property in occupied territories have been held at Canadian synagogues. These events appear to violate both Canadian values and UN resolutions we’ve signed as a nation.
We can do better than performative statements. The time for meaningful action is long overdue.
I posted a comment saying „The settlements are objectively ethnic cleansing.“ that got removed for not being 50 words because the sub limits top level comments to be 50 words to encourage thoughtful discussion.
I understand this and that’s fair enough as a rule for the sub, however it is simply a fact that the settlements which displace Palestinians are ethnic cleansing and there aren’t more words needed for that so I’m posting it again like this.
Our country and the West supporting this for so long has just been supporting ethnic cleansing. It’s just the reality of what the project of settlements are.
Will continue to provide weapons and/or other financial support, though!
