A post about Armenia and Turkey in both national subs? I’ll go ahead and grab my popcorn.

  2. As a Turkish citizen, I don’t hold a negative view toward Armenian people. Naturally, in every country there are individuals with strong or hostile opinions, but I don’t believe these views represent everyone. Actions that increase tension tend to be unhelpful in the long term and do not benefit either society. Given our shared history during the Ottoman era, we are not unfamiliar with one another; our communities were once closely connected. I believe efforts by both countries to build friendly and respectful relations are a positive step forward, and I hope this approach is welcomed by society in a positive and understanding way.

Making peace is not a choice, it is a necessity. If we want to stop giants like Russia and America from exploiting us through this conflict, we must make peace. In the past, everyone did evil to each other. When you read the history of war, you will see Armenians in the Mongol army, Turks in the Arab armies, and Serbs in the Turkish armies. Our ancestors killed each other. If we don’t leave this behind, they will screw us over even more (the superpowers exploiting this conflict).
