The longest night is over and today the days are starting to get longer and the nights are getting shorter again. In ancient times it would have been believed that the Päivä (old name of Sun) has been found by Päivänpoika (Son of Päivä) and lifted back into the sky with Päivätär, the ancient Goddess of Sun.
