Kanada gab im Jahr 2024 78 Millionen US-Dollar für die Abschiebung von 18.000 Menschen aus – so viel wie seit Stephen Harper nicht mehr

Stop making me like Carney!
They deported Stephen Harper??
Good, now keep going
Would not need to depot so many if there was better immigration policy.

And they’re going to need more than that given they admitted there are over 10k people subject to removal orders they can’t find and have admitted there could be more than 500k illegals in the country
Shows how deportation is not just kicking someone out of the country because we uphold procedural justice
More. Much more.
carney is a bit of a bleak guy…i think he sees hinself as effective and pragmatic. i feel like he is not an independent thinker and sleeps naked in bed with europe.
Turd should pay for them, it was his policy.
it’s worth every penny it cost us…. keep on deporting them!!
$4,333 per person, that actually doesn’t sound that ridiculous if they’re putting them on a plane and have other logistics to deal with.
I’d imagine if you set up a United Way type campaign you’d have 10 times that funded in a week
$4k per person seems cheap really
Is there a GoFundMe where I can help crowdfund this?
Since Harper, it’s the most people or the most money?
How much is it per person when ICE does it in the states. Maybe we can just sub contract out to them.
Worth it.
So we all spent a tooney ?
At 4,300 a head, factoring in admin, legal, and administrative, it’s not bad. The alternative when factoring in healthcare and public services expenditure would likely sit at 100,000 per head to stay in Canada?
Does anyone know how many immigrants are here illegally?
Why are there people here that need deporting on the government dime? They should be paying it themselves
Que the anti immigration people sweating over „more deportations“ Button and „wasting tax dollars!“ button
How many deportations actually happened? Spending and doing are very different things.
not enough
Based upon what I’m seeing from CBSA removal statistics:
Canada enforced removals for 17,357 people in 2024, up from 15,207 in 2023. For 2025, up to Oct 31st, Canada enforced the removal of 18,785 persons. If my math is correct, that may mean we may end the year around 22,542 which would be an almost 30% YOY increase.

Finally, my taxes are going to good use
Is this supposed to be a bad thing? It costs money to deport people.
Whoa how much did Stephen Harper cost to deport?
Very good. The amount per person is not very high. It means the Government is doing its job efficiently.
$4.3k per person? Do you know how much we spend per year to incarcerate a criminal at a federal prison? $120k per person.
May be say we will pay you 5000 to leave or get deported for nothing. They will leave themselves.
I could do more for cheaper
I wonder what the cost to our education, healthcare and infrastructure was to bring in millions of people a year prior to this?
Now we have to pay to fix the problem
Get these numbers up
Tax dollars well spent.
Wat about 2025
More please
Good
Shockingly cost effective…
Money well spent
Cost per person is reasonable considering legal, transport etc…. Need a lot more than 18,000 in 2026 though
Imagine if we had given CBSA a bump of $78M to their operating budget years ago for screening/vetting, none of these people would have even gotten into the country in the first place
