    1. This isn’t exactly news. The 28 primary is going to be pretty damn open. Only an idiot would endorse someone this early.

They’ll fall in line after the primaries, just like when they called Trump out for the garbage he is in 2015 then started fellating him in public in 2016.

Well who else is going to try? Rubio? Don’t make me laugh. It doesn’t matter who they pick, they know they are done for. Well – the few that have a little sanity left.

Republicans and right wing podcasters bashed Democrats constantly for not running a primary for the 2024 presidential election, as though primaries are some magical part of our government process, and even though they would have bashed Democrats constantly for running with Biden all the way despite his age.

By all means, Republican Party, please anoint this unlikable opportunist without exploring any other viable options the same way you did with Vivek in the Ohio governor’s race.

Because he’s Peter Thiel in a build-a-bear suit.

Also, a danger to couches everywhere!

Not sure Trump is going to allow a Republican primary for president to occur openly for the 2028 election, during his term in office.

I hope this isn’t bigotry just because J.D. is comfortable wearing eye liner.

They’re expecting a third Trump term. Which is entirely possible and they will gleefully make happen if they can.

If the Republicans get wrecked in the midterms, Vance doesn’t stand a chance in 2028. MAGA is already slowly losing momentum, that will completely derail it.

Not a single former VP or president endorsed Trump. I wonder the last time that happened was

    11. Humph

Today’s GOP: No, Never, Vance can go pound sand!

Tomorrow’s GOP: Why yes, yes we will endorse Vance, was there ever any doubt?

If the GOP is one thing, they are predictable.

    12. Sorta_jewy_with_it on

They haven’t even decided if they’re going to violate the constitution and trot out Trump for a 3rd.

Why would anybody in either party endorse a candidate who hasn’t even announced they are running three years before the election. What an idiot article

    14. intestinal_fortitude on

While we’re at it, stop calling them the GOP. There’s nothing grand about them and it sure as shit isn’t a party. They’re just old and out of touch.

I despise American media. What do you mean we have to speculate on the next election the day after the last election? What do you mean people are endorsing non existent runs

    16. paradoxpancake on

Zero shot it’s Vance. I’m betting they’ll try to consolidate around Rubio, but that primary is going to be utterly vicious and the Republican vote is likely going to be very split.

Trump may try to go for a third term, but I would not be surprised if states just outright refuse to put him on their ballots, regardless of what the Supreme Court may try to say.

    17. If Trump dies before 2028 and Vance levels up, it will be easier for him to secure the primary. Republicans are waiting to see what happens. It’s too early.

    18. TurtlesBreakTheMeta on

Nobody is endorsing Vance for 2 reasons.

A, Trump is a deranged narcissist who still fully, in his mind, thinks he will be president in 2028 and is fully planning on running for it. In his diseased mind, anyone endorsing another candidate is a “traitor” and committing a grave insult. They’d immediately be cast out and attacked by him with a fury rarely seen.

      B. The republicans are all vipers who care only for power, and are readying themselves to seize power upon the orange fuhrer’s death. As such, they are loath to endorse someone because THEY are planning on trying to become the new kingpin themselves, and have no desire to willingly hand power over to a limp sock like Vance, which is what an endorsement would amount to.
