    1. Is she saying she was given less of a budget than a male director would have been given?

    2. It’s so cheap to make movies now days if you want it to be. I’m so tired of hearing it cost 100m+ to make a movie.

I love Kate, but her interviews for this movie have been so tone-deaf. She talks ad nauseum about reading her 20 year-old son’s script and walking it through rewrites, agents, production deals, then literally making it herself. Then denies that it was nepotism.

Now she’s talking about her crew not being paid a living wage and blames „the industry.“ Then acts like what a beautiful act of service it was that they worked anyway.

First, just as with DDL, making your child’s movie for them (and starring in it to seal the deal) is absolutely nepotism.

Secondly, Kate, pay your goddamn people what they deserve.

I just feel like she comes across as so privileged and oblivious in talking about this film. I’ve been incredibly surprised.

Is the script a piece of shit?

I’m just curious because you’d think being the son of Kate Winslet would be enough to secure a scriptwriter deal.

Hey High Paid Actors: the world is moving on. Your industry is doing its best to kill itself. Maybe go back to your roots or, better yet, reinvent yourself. Blaming the populace for your continued decline may not be the best option.
