Epic is just better than the competition, if it’s a monopoly it’s a relatively natural one

It’s not a monopoly when the options are Epic and Cerner, and everything else is literal trash.
If other firms want to compete, maybe they should produce something people want to use.
Somebody didn’t bribe the usual set of politicians. Epic needs to up its game.
I literally have made decisions to use / not use a healthcare provider based on Epic. If they don’t use Epic, it’s a no-go for me. The others are soooo bad.
I smell Oracle and Meditech lobbyists at work.

I was honestly confused how this related to Fortnite and the comments weren’t helping.
Probably the one area where a public good monopoly. Athena, epic, etc don’t communicate with each other so having compatible records everywhere would be great for people’s total health.
Texas thinks 12 year olds can carry a baby to term and be a mother. They think a 12 year old should be able to work in a factory. And many of them think a 12 year old is old enough to get married.
But to them a 12 year old isn’t old enough to have a private conversation with their doctor.
The hypocrisy is amazing.
Epic makes care coordination so much easier, charting easier, communicating with patients easier- It’s just a superior product.
Patient portal is vastly better in Epic.
Where I work they just rolled out AI to fight insurance denials in Epic.
Well epic is a walled garden——that remains the problem.. All that said it remains the top dog. So it’s a case of pay up or shut up.
I’m no fan of the cult of Epic or Texas, be happy to see them destroy each other.
Texas, that bastion for consumer rights?
They’re concerned about monopoly over healthcare records, so rather than legislate for a transferable record, they’re suing Epic?
