Apparently Spain doesn’t recognize Kosovo not to support separatist movements as in Catalonia?
Wish more would recognize.
Weird seeing Algiers, Morocco and Tunisia as they are Muslim nations without some special relation to Serbia (maybe it has to do with Western Sahara for part of them), also Argentina is generally a U.S. puppet when it comes to international relations.
EU countries don’t really matter as the EU as a whole recognizes Kosovo, so it’s mostly a nice gesture for Serbia.

8 countries withdrew their recognition, and in 2025 4 countries recognized Kosovo’s independence.

Yes… the „anti-Serbian“ war and whole destruction of Yugoslavia is a very sad chapter in European relations. It was brutal expansion of the German „influence zone“ at the cost of the weakening Russian one, and as usual who suffered were those Slavs between Moscow and Berlin. Germans got permission from Uncle Sam (later even full support in exchange for fully supporting the 1st Gulf War – btw we remember what Joschka told USA when they demanded help in the 2nd war…) and even sided with openly aggressive Muslims to weaken Serbia more. Both Germans and Russians escalated the conflicts to prevent possible recreating of any Soviet-less COMECON cooperation of Central European post-commie states

Those conflicts forced everybody to „choose sides“, and colors on this map simply reflect it. Quite ironically, Slovenia and Croatia (also Czechia, after „smooth“ destruction of Czechoslovakia) are much more subordinate to Germany today than Yugoslavia ever was to the mighty Soviet Union even at the peak of its power.
Just goes to show how performative Spain’s recognition of Palestine as a state was when they don’t even recognize a country in the same continent
They had to ban Yugoslavia from the server because it was becoming a superpower, capitalist things.
Can we please accept Kosovo as a new state, it’s very obvious it will never reunite with Serbia again and we’re better off with a separate state in terms of humanity. Free those Albanians.
I looked at brazilian sources, and basically Brazil doesn’t recognize Kosovo because it has excellent relations with Serbia. And if Serbia were to recognize Kosovo one day, Brazil would also recognize Kosovo’s independence. But from what little I know about the geopolitics of the Balkans, that will be difficult to happen.
