How dumb do you have to be to take a dog into a field where there are cows?

I was on the farmer’s side until i read the article and apparently after the first incident (the guy was lucky to survive) she moved move cattle to same field when she had other enclosed fields available
This is just “i want to remove the public rights of way from my lands” action

I am in favour of public rights of way but there are too many piss takers these days. People who litter, let their animals run everywhere etc.

This can’t be right. I thought farmers were upstanding members of our society and not entitled assholes /s

Quite right too. If you can’t control your cow you shouldn’t allow them off the lead

The dog managed to escape uninjured. Man’s best friend and all that. Was the dogs name, Jack?
Poor.

No other industry would get away with having something as dangerous as a cow on a public right of way

Some farmers are far more sensible about this. I was on a walk last year and came across one PROW path that a local farmer had put up signs explaining that the cows may be aggressive, and had drawn out a map showing a safe detour to take. Totally reasonable way to do it.
Some just don’t want PROW to exist and are happy to make it as difficult as possible

Farmers: I don’t want any public access to my land
Also Farmers: I don’t want to pay any tax.

They’re not just walkers, they are dog walkers. It’s an important distinction. Anybody who has grown up in the countryside knows not to enter a field with cows and calves with your dog. The farmer should have had signs up warning the public and provided an alternative route while that field was being grazed.
