    2. This is mostly just measuring the steep drop in the value of USD in the past 3 years. 3 years ago 1 USD was 5000 COP, now it’s 3800 COP. That basically explains the entire change in Colombia.

      I still think that measuring poverty with dollars isn’t an accurate way to do it. What does $6.68 buy in these countries? Do we consider someone who can’t afford to buy decent clothes or pay rent as “not living in poverty”? What is considered a dignified quality of life?
