    1. Stripping citizenship is one of the most authoritarian moves a government can make. Imagine living your whole life as an American, then suddenly being told you’re not. The trauma this could cause is immeasurable.

I take Trump at his word – he intends to go after American citizens.

[‚Homegrowns are next‘: Trump hopes to deport and jail U.S. citizens abroad (April 16, 2025)](https://www.npr.org/2025/04/16/nx-s1-5366178/trump-deport-jail-u-s-citizens-homegrowns-el-salvador)

      >President Trump says his administration is actively exploring a proposal to detain U.S. citizens and send them to prisons in El Salvador. Speaking Monday, minutes before a press briefing alongside El Salvador’s president, Nayib Bukele, Trump could be heard embracing the concept.

      >“The homegrowns are next, the homegrowns. You’ve got to build about five more places,“ Trump said to Bukele, an apparent reference to prison space that would be needed in El Salvador to house U.S. citizens.

This terrorizing of U.S. Citizens is entirely intentional. Trump wants all non-whites relegated to second class citizenship. He wants them ‚in their place‘ – as obedient and subservient workers – there to serve the ruling class only.

Stephen Miller, White House deputy chief of staff, is the chief designer and advisor to Trump on ‚immigration policy‘ – which under Trump translates to: chief advisor on the “white genocide” and “great replacement” myths.

[Stephen Miller’s Affinity for White Nationalism Revealed in Leaked Emails](https://www.splcenter.org/resources/hatewatch/stephen-millers-affinity-white-nationalism-revealed-leaked-emails/)

      >Miller sent a story from the white nationalist website VDARE to McHugh (of ‚Breitbart News‘) on Oct. 23, 2015, the emails show. White nationalist Peter Brimelow founded VDARE in 1999. The website traffics in the “white genocide” or “great replacement” myth, which suggests that nonwhite people are systematically and deliberately wiping white people off the planet.

Racism is a core tenet of MAGA values. They don’t believe everyone should be treated equally.

As one MAGA supporter put it to me:

      >I believe what Trump is doing is trying to terrorise immigrants who are currently here so that they will self deport en masse. Otherwise this country has no hopes of ever going back to being a white country run by whites in a freedom loving manner.

Trump is setting up a two-tier legal system, in which groups of people targeted by Trump are denied access to the legal system used by the rest of the country. This is a common ploy of authoritarians – because resistance to these attacks on the rule of law is weaker when these changes do not apply to everyone. It is much easier to pretend ‚this is fine‘ when you yourself are not a member of one of the groups being attacked.

    3. Thousands as a target? That’s not law and order. That’s a weaponized government.

Will Vivek Ramaswamy be one, given his parents both were not citizens at the time of his birth?

    5. How long before they start removing straight up birth given citizenship from Americans living abroad or with descent from certain ethnic backgrounds or political parties, or whatever the next boogyman is?

    6. namastayhom33 on

As a naturalized citizen, literally fuck everyone who voted for this shit.

Especially the naturalized citizens who voted for this shit.

    7. Dresden_2028 on

Well that can’t be. His supporters have spent over a decade saying Trump would only go after illegal aliens.

Can’t wait to see how they spin this one.

    8. I hope the three Trump supporting naturalized citizens  get what they want out of this.

    9. PlsSuckMyToes on

There have only been about a couple hundred denaturalization cases brought since 2017. A lot of illegal things will be happening by the Trump admin to meet that number. As if that is shocking

    10. BlondeTemptationxo on

Historically denaturalization was rare and only for narrow fraud cases, but now USCIS is being told to flood DOJ with hundreds of referrals monthly. Critics warn this could turn citizenship of officials accuse them of fraud.

First they came for the people with migration background.

      And I didn’t speak up, because I didn’t have a migration background.

      Then they came for …

That was the ***old*** Supreme Court.

The ***new*** Supreme Court bears striking resemblance to the Court once run by Karl Roland Freisler.

Nigel Farage is planning the same thing over here when he comes to power in 2029 and of all the evil and depraved shit they have in store for us, this one breaks my heart the most.

I’ve got plenty of friends who are naturalised British citizens. They are all aware now that they’re on borrowed time and that according to a good 30% of our population they’ve only ever been second class citizens and that their passports aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on.

These are people who have been here and been tax-paying, law-abiding citizens for decades, many having spent their entire adult life here and are firmly established in their local community and had planned to get buried in English soil. They are cheering England on in the football, some of them queued for hours when the Queen died to pay their respect, they are proudly flying the St George’s Flag, but none of that will ever be good enough for the racist rabble rousers. According to Farage and his ilk, unless you were born on this island to British parents you’re not one of us and will never truly belong here.

It’s soul destroying to see how many people are cheering this shit on.

    17. helpmegetoffthisapp on

This is extremely difficult to do, and only Federal courts can do this…and they’re very apprehensive because stripping citizenship is a very slippery slope. My guess is Trump government will try to demonstrate that some naturalized citizens have committed crimes that warrant denaturalization, but I don’t think most of those cases will stick in the courts.

    18. paddy_yinzer on

Trump isn’t doing thin in a vacuum, its republican president and conservatives that are doing this. Legacy media keeps saying Trump this and Trump that, this will alow Republicans to separate themselfs from this in future elections. Even though alot of the people responsible have been GOP insiders that have been pushing all of this for decades.

Will Melania and Elon be prosecuted? Because there is (IMO) sufficient evidence that both of their initial VISA applications were obtained fradulently

    20. Ser_DunkandEgg on

There are members from Trump’s 1st administration who should be jailed for 20-life for high crimes, treason, and jan 6th.

There are members from Trump’s 2nd administration that should be jailed and face firing squad for crimes against humanity.

When the midterm gets closer this is all going to get uglier. The national guard deployments were a test/dry run. These sick people are going to absolutely force or cause a false flag attack in order to (attempt) to delay, denounce and, outright steal or prevent folks from being able to cast ballots. Citizens are going to be rounded up without due process and moved interstate between ice facilities. Martial law declared. It’s not even 1 year in to this disaster. They have told us exactly what they plan to do. They have been and are still building infrastructure and using unlawful forces to kidnap, threaten and intimidate citizens and foreigners. They have been stealing, collecting and categorizing information about US citizens to be able to choose who passes their loyalty tests. They protect people who prey on children, women, sick, old, disabled for profit.

Let me guess. The, did it the „right way“, but not the „white way“?

    22. TheDwellingHeart on

And millions of US citizens voted to cause harm to the rest of USA. Make no mistake, these people are cheering for the hurt they cause.

    23. Please tell me I’m not the only one that realizes one of the major reasons for denaturalizing citizens is to remove their voting rights?

    24. Just a reminder that in 1933 Germany enacted a denaturalization law that legally allowed the government to arrest, denaturalize, and deport Jews and opponents of various types. It layed the foundation of mass arrests, and forced deportation to labor camps and eventually extermination during the Holocaust.

This is why people are so upset about targeted denaturalization, deportations without due process, and immigration jails. This is something we’ve seen in the worst of history.

    25. Adolph Hitler denaturalized citizens in Nazi Germany…

…oh right but for the love of god don’t call them Nazis

One of my best friends earned his citizenship the year of the election. He’s from Vietnam and now he’s terrified. He has a wife and a baby on the way and now he’s horrified he’s gonna get deported for nothing.

      Why are we so hateful

I don’t ever want to hear any Trump supporting self described pAtRiOt even say the word “constitution” again. This is not allowed under the US Constitution. Believe it or not, the document is more than just the second amendment

    30. NonIdentifiableUser on

Imagine if they exerted all this effort towards positive things like infrastructure investment or improving the social safety net. Nah, let’s just entertain Stephen Miller’s childhood fantasies of going after the non-white kids that he didn’t like in school instead.

    31. Remember when folks tried to gaslight us into believing that denaturalization was liberal fearmongering? Because I do. This administration had met and exceeded all the supposed “fearmongering” from before the election.

    32. I’m so old I can remember when republicans claimed they welcomed immigrants “who came here the right way.”

    33. As here is no logical end in this you can basically denaturalize everyone. And if you also end birth right citizenship only native Americans are save. I have a great idea just denaturalize everyone that skipped army conscription in their own country, you won’t have cowards ofcourse. Naturally their offspring loses birthright citizenship and spouses ofcourse can’t become citizens. Now we finally have a legal basis to send Trump back to Germany
