The measure of a real democracy in the year 2025 is whether you can reduce the number of foreigners in your country. Every country wants that, only Japan, Switzerland and Denmark has been able to accomplish it. Maybe USA, we’ll see if Trump keeps it up.

Min. Cost of investment to apply for an investor visa fucking tripled while I was waiting for my clients to settle invoices so I can get shit done.
I will die with this being my greatest regret.

Japan has about 4 foreigners living in the whole country.
What’s the point of this?

People criticized her but not knowing the bigger picture.
Majority of these so called real estate buyers/investors are from mainland China and some of them even have direct ties to the CCP. It’s a way for them to off load asset and also pose a big security risk for Japan.
This is not good for them. Their population is shrinking so fast. What is their plan? They cant increase the population in a natural way withing their nation…the economic situtation isnt that attractive for that. Their working schedule is nuts.
I read that their new PM holds Saturday meeetings at 3AM!!! Crazy! I am not surprised that ppl dont want to make kids there.
But if you are a sane leader, there has to be smth done abt immigration, right immigration. They should open the doors for skilled foreigners. The country has been notoriously xenophobic for many decades, not in the bad way maybe, tho we know from the history there have been dark moments like fascism and wars and etc….but they need urgently smht in their demography policy.
it is already hard for foreigners to adapt to a totally different society , but no these rules…..I dont see any point

It is because the Chinese that tried to bring HK rent-seeking economy pattern to Japan? That man double the rents and ban residents from using the lifts if they refuse to compile and claims that he had been doing something similar in HK for years.

It’s reasonable.
Japan has been incredibly lax on policy for immigration. The just modified business visa had very low requirements and was being used by people to bring in their family members and evade detection. There were numerous videos on Douyin outlining how it was an easy system to exploit along with howto guides.
There can be reasonable immigration while filling holes created by lazy bureaucrats.

It seems the Japanese government is moving to revise conditions based on reports that the acceptance of foreigners is projected to exceed the population decline. The AI revolution has only just begun, and a mere 20% increase in efficiency through AI would likely be enough to resolve the problem.

Reminder that Japan’s population is shrinking and birth rates plummeting. [Link](https://youtu.be/T7l4-efvTi4?si=WTxXTlcEBzu9UWnk)
