I’m sure Ukraine will appreciate the 2.5 billion pounds, but long term, they cannot rely on aid that, while deserved, will constantly be subject to the domestic politics of the democracies that send it, which at any moment can decide to prioritize some other issue and leave Ukraine in a vulnerable state.

Which is why I’m proposing the sale be reversed, that sum being returned to the buyers, and the state of Ukraine be given legal ownership of the club so they have a steady source of income they can rely on for however long it is needed.
