Good decision. Gives the PLQ time to select and establish a new leader.

The PQ leader has had his missteps in recent weeks, and the prospect of a referendum will begin to worry Quebec voters, as has been noted by Chantal Hebert.

This race is definitely not over, especially if the PLQ can get their act together.

Any Québécois feel like putting in their two cents, does the PLQ have their Mark Carney they can pull out and turn this around or is this election going to be a PQ sweep?

    3. Bad for his personal career, but ultimately good for his party and Canada itself. Had to happen. Also Legault will go down and take the CAQ/Quebec/Canada with him.

    4. Absolutely necessary at this point he’s  be embroiled in scandal after scandal. We need a strong federalist party in Quebec. The PLQ needs to step up and get it’s act together

      ffffffffuck.

This scandal came too early. The PLQ has an opportunity to turn this around.

I was hoping for an easy PQ win.

Very sad day for the indépendance movement, but we rejoice in knowing that he helped exposed once again the corruption in the PLQ that will endure after him.

What a shame this entire thing turned out to be for PLQ. Before this scandal, they had been narrowing the gap with the PQ, and right before it, the Liberals were close to statistical tie.

Hopefully we can get another strong leader for Quebec’s only federalist party. PSPP is one of the most dangerous and demagogic figures in contemporary Canadian politics
