    1. >Democrat Gary Clemons, a South Louisville union leader and U.S. Army veteran, won Kentucky’s vacant Senate District 37 seat on Tuesday in a roughly 47.5‑point landslide, taking 72.6 percent of the vote to Republican Calvin Leach’s 25.1 percent, according to unofficial Jefferson County results.

Looking forward to the next season of the DNC-RNC two steps back, quarter step forward routine.

In a special election where only the truly politically engaged people participated.

Kentucky always finds a way to fuck them selves over in a general election.

The republican he was running against was an incel, so happy that my southend friends voted to stay blue

    5. There’s two things that seem to be at play. First Republicans are very unpopular right now and are harming this country and stopping any sort of progress and people are mad.

Second with all these over performances, maybe Harris wasn’t that good of a candidate.

I hope thats a trend. You cant get anything out of the bunch up there now.

    7. Even though the seat is in a relatively blue district of Kentucky, a 47 point win is huge.

Are senate races affected by districting? Cause this is exactly what gerrymandering tries to do by packing one party into huge wins in a single district so they can lose all the rest.

    9. Why was the turnout so low?

      This is not a win.

We are in real trouble if only just under 4k dems turned up in this political environment.

Shoulda been 10k right? Based on population? 25k dems turned up in 2024 for yates

    10. Nice. Love to see the DLCC swoop in and get some credit like a trash bird eating roadkill.

It’s Jefferson county. Louisville is blue and this doesn’t surprise anybody

I was wondering if Republicans are not showing up or if they’re actually flipping, and it seems like roughly the same number of people voted in 2024 and 2025 in this District, but with a 1,000 person swing for Democrats.

So either 1,000 Republicans switched their vote, or 1,000 non-voting 2024 Democrats showed up and 1,000 Republicans stayed home.

This will continue across most of the USA.

We can do better. Be Progressive. 🥰

You know, for all the „DEMOCRATS NEED TO DO SOMETHING!!!“ rhetoric, their strategy for elections this year seems to be working.
