Why can’t we just have AI data centers that mitigate their environmental impact, provide jobs, and most importantly, have their proceeds redistributed to the most needy Americans?
Or is that too far beyond the imagination of this nation of cynical halfwits?
God knows we don’t need incentives for Americans to use their brains even less.
During the cannabis legalization rush in Canada MANY growhouses were built/retrofitted at BIG costs.
Since then, many operations have defaulted/gone bankrupt because it is the job of the VC to create hype around an industry, so they can sell their stake and walk away.
I really like NLP and LLMs/SLMs, but it’s a bubble.

Agreed. Until you can run them on nuclear power, no more new data centers for AI, anyway. For general purposes like streaming, storage, keep building. But still, nuclear is needed to power these.
Bernie is right as usual and as usual this stupid country will ignore him and plunge itself further into a cycle of poverty for most of us and higher job loss.
The White House needs that to keep posting disrespectful and childish AI videos to distract from the Epstein files though..
