i think its fine, chinese have been growing tea for centuries anyway.
only see it as a problem when they start labeling their products as japanese matcha, like this
there was news this year about problems about matcha supply from japan. since there is demand, it is natural that some would fill the supply gap.

I mean, the Chinese originally developed green tea in the first place. As long as they label the product origin properly, the consumer has more choice and likely lower prices.
