So, is DC being such an extreme outlier due to the gross amount of money in politics?

Canada’s GDP per capita varies slightly by source and year, but recent estimates for 2025 hover around $54,900 – $55,000 USD (nominal) and over $65,000 USD (PPP), with figures for 2023 and 2024 showing figures like $53,431 (2023) and $54,282 (2024 USD). For the Canadian dollar (CAD) basis, figures are even higher, with estimates around $75,336 CAD per capita for 2024,

    3. 260k per capita is absurd..even if it’s just for a major city…shit just triggered my income inferiority complex

Luckily Mississippi is the only state that has a lower gdp per capita than the UK. That’s where I draw the line.

I’m surprised Texas is that high. I’m sure a big part of it is natural resources money, but goes to show it is truly the strongest red state economy.

Why the need to explain why Alaska is so high? Or how about also explaining why DC is so high, which is actually not a state but is represented here.

Minnesota basically on par with Texas. The only difference is we here in Minnesota care about *all* of our citizens, higher education, and feeding children. We also don’t pretend to have our own power grid that the rest of the nation has to prop up.
