Ukraine already has legally binding guarantees that the US will never recognize any occupied territory of Ukraine as Russian, and still Trump says he will recognize them. The only possible „guarantee“ by Trump can be boots on the ground or weapons, not papers… and guess what – that’s exactly what Trump is not willing to provide.
In hindsight, if Obama was president, Ukraine shouldn’t agree to a security guarantee, look what happened to Crimea, let alone a guarantee from a perpetual lair.
