This would be fantastic to see controlled for population, or if you took each states’s % of American population and multiplied that times this map… which states punch above their own weight, and which punch below?

Tiny little Rhode Island is equal to Montana, North Dakota or South Dakota. Lol.
I would have expected Alaska to be a touch higher than that with the fish, oil, and logging industries they have going on up there.
The Dakotas, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho could just be one state
