Treat your TV as a display and nothing else. Do not connect it to WiFi.

Copilot is probably the least used ai so they are really trying to force it in users

This is why I keep my „smart“ TV unplugged from the Internet, and use a third party dongle (and a PC) to watch TV. Updates on TVs are bullshit.

Yup, this is why I never connected my LG OLED to the internet. I use a Roku for any apps I need.

I bought an LG TV this fall. Never connected to internet. Hooked up an apple TV and my PS5.
Has anyone even gotten the app to work? I tried launching it a couple of weeks ago out of curiosity and it just… didn’t do anything?

Disable WiFi and get an Apple TV or something similar. My Samsung TV insists on switching to its own content at 2 o’clock in the fucking morning. FU whoever thought it that was the future.
And this is why I use an AppleTV. . . Seriously though people, buy a dedicated streaming device, most of the time it will run better than the native app after a few years and they are usually less loaded with bloatware!
I’m not positive of others but I know the Apple one has no extra software that can’t be removed easily and is very quick.

My Samsung TV has started continually trying to get me to turn on the personalized ads option. There is no ignore permanently option. Only an „ignore this time“ option. It is incredibly annoying.
For fucks sake….. the reason I stuck with LG for so long is due to their Dolby Vision support. I dont want fucking AI bullshit on my TV!!! I use it for watching 4K blu rays lmao
End this and all TV issues by not agreeing to the privacy policy that ask you to agree to it when you first get a new TV.
Factory reset it and DO NOT agree to if you already have one and this effectively turns it into a „dumb TV“
Furthermore, Do not EVER connect the TV itself to WiFi.
Use a streaming device and only connect this to the internet.
LG actually has some of the least bad TV software. I continue to not „Agree“ with a lot of their TOS, and they stay out of my way. I don’t need voice search. I don’t need personalized ads. Etc. TV works fine if you just don’t agree to TOS. If that has changed, I guess I’m getting my Nvidia Shield out again.
On at least both Samsung and LG, there are a million config settings you have access to, and you can turn this shit off.
