Mamdani verurteilt den Anschlag am Bondi Beach als „abscheulichen Akt des antisemitischen Terrors“ und gibt jüdischen New Yorkern ein Versprechen

Because he isn’t an antisemite. Gee.
It’s just somehow so „right“ that it’s called Bondi Beach.
Man, this is such BS. Hate only breeds more hate, ya know? Gotta stand together instead of tearing each other apart smh. Just my two cents…hope it gets better for everyone soon.
Good for Mamdani. There is a one leader in particular in my country I wish would say something similar. But so far, crickets…

NY Post can fuck all the way off.
I mean, we already knew this, but it still goes to show that you can oppose Israel’s treatment of Palestinians *and* be opposed to the murderous evils of antisemitism.
…and that’s how a good politician operates. Doesn’t capitulate to the demands of other politicians or rabid opposition. They wait until there is a moment to lead AND THEY LEAD.

Far leftists aren’t going to like that lol
The guy who stepped up to stop him was a Muslim guy. He wrestled the gun away from the one guy. Then the other guy shot him twice.
It was pretty heroic.
„But don’t forget, he’s a Muslim!“
I am glad that Zohran said the right things here.
I have generally been very critical of Zohran’s approach towards the Jewish community. I don’t like the way that he only platforms outwardly anti-Zionist Jews (which represent at best 10% of Jewish Americans). I felt like he gave air to the anti-Israel and anti-Jewish protestors by saying that the NYC synagogue should be used for anything “against international law”. His statement was soft and it won’t discourage protests. And most importantly, I wish he would take a firmer stance on denouncing the “globalize the intifada” speak, because that is exactly what happened in Australia.
To his credit, in this case he made clear that this was an antisemitic attack and that it is not welcome to NY and his stance was a lot firmer than i wouldve expected. Hopefully he can even be willing to call out anti-semitism in his own movement.
Bibi and Israel’s right wing have fomented the flames of antisemitism more than anyone else!!
The right wing thrives on this to garner more votes and influence.
It’s like a horrible cycle – terrorist attack, run to Bibi and cheer him on, he stays in power and commits more atrocities, triggering terrorist attacks, cycle continues! 🤣🤷♂️
He’s a panderer, but ok. Saying „globalize the intifada“ and encouraging your lemming supporters to say the same has consequences.
I’ve had to remind myself what antisemitism means after the democrats diluted the meaning to support the invasion of gaza
Condemning violence is the bare minimum any leader should do. Attacks like this are vile, and acknowledging that doesn’t have to be partisan, it’s about recognizing human life and public safety.
Mamdani won’t do anything because he doesn’t want to upset his own religion (being Islam).
Islam has NO place in Western countries, including the U.S.
Really don’t want to hear from Mamdani right now in a city that has such proud Jewish links
Why would the views of the NYC mayor matter on an attack in Australia?
The Bondi killings are abhorrent and a shock to Australians. But Israel’s behavior in Gaza and the West Bank will continue to undermine Israeli/Jewish security globally. That will only end with a two-state solution, but Netanyahu does not seem in the least interested in the ‚long-term‘ security of his people. Just endless chaos and suffering.
this is the intifada he refused to condemn🤷🏻♂️
