Jakutien (die Republik Sacha) ist die größte administrativ-territoriale Einheit der Welt; Flächenmäßig ist es mit Indien vergleichbar und mit rund einer Million Einwohnern größer als jedes andere Land in der Europäischen Union.

Tbh this is also in large part due to its proximity to the North Pole. If it was located closer to the equator maybe it could all fit into one time zone?
That place where the time changes by 2h seems a bit odd, you’d have thought they could make the boundaries such that it only changes in 1h increments

This is from 2011-2014, when Russia applied permanent daylight saving time (or summer time). Now it’s an hour back.
