I usually have never heard of movies that bomb that badly. I think there’s a correlation there…

Never even heard of Ella McCay.
Went to look it up and it’s a “political-comedy-drama” about a girl becoming governor…not really winning me over there.

Who tf let James L Brooks direct another movie? I thought he got retired for good after his last disaster.

Well their advertising budget must’ve been 0 I’ve never heard of it.

The only trailer I saw for it had both of the actresses screaming with each other and I thought “man. If that’s a highlight, I’m good.”

Pretty convinced that all box office articles spend 90% of their thought process on a headline making things worse than they are.

So James L. Brooks did a disaster called how do you know, left for a while, came back and did another disaster? Someone’s gotta tell this man that his time is up, he’s done enough for this industry, and he should just chill in the corner
Plus this dude said jack nicholson is coming back, so if that’s really the case, then I really hope jack doesn’t come back to be in another film of his

Man, I’ve been seeing tv ads for this one and people here still never heard of it

I legit thought Ella McCay was on a streaming service.

I saw an ad for Ella McCray last night for the first time ever but I had no idea what the hell it was, it looked like a commercial for other movies?
Not a good sign when nobody has ever heard of your movie and the one ad they see for it makes it unclear what it even is

That’ll take some o’ the starch outta James L. Brooks!

Movies like this usually flop, but if good they are remembered forever.

The previews made it feel like it was a tv series, I had no idea it was a movie. The marketing has been useless
