I did not expect to see such a epic video!
More like car camera from 5-6km in distance and something coming towards ground

Whoa. The break matches that drone hit where a plane was ready to take off. Is it possible that it actually took flight?

Russian technology without western parts 🤣

It broke in half?

Looks like the back fell off.

This appears like a massive structural failure, likely due to an „beyond end of lifetime“ airframe.
The plane was supposedly on a post-maintenance test flight, but as production of the [An-22](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_An-22) ceased in 1976, maintenance and upkeep of this plane type seems to be an increasing challenge.
Some sources also suggest the remaining 2 operational planes remaining with the orcish air force have been pulled from active service mid-December to spare the kremlin gremlin additional public embarassement…

I’m no engineer or professional on airplanes, but I don’t think airplanes are supposed to do that.

Gorgeous. Top quality plane. Mightiest.

Obviously not as safe as those where the front doesn’t fall off. It’s still in the environment though.

So wait, it still took off after being hit in the fusealage by a Ukrainian FPV drone whilst taxi-ing? How were they not aware?

Absolutely awesome way for a plane genre to go extinct.

Plane older than the entire crew combined, never seen thorough maintenance, this is what you get. Thanks to the strain sanctions and Russia’s war effort puts on these transport aircrafts, we’ll see more of that for sure.

The pilot panicked when he realised he had to pilot not just 1 but 2 planes at very short notice.

Solid landing, 8/10

Ahhhh I see the problem. The tail fell off. It’s not supposed to do that.

That is what happens when you switch to using the cheap generic brand duct tape to keep the front and back of your planes attached.

Don’t rejoice too quickly, a bit of duct tape and it will be like new.

Oh no!
Anyway..

It’s such a shame (not for any military reasons, fuck Russia and this crash is a net positive for Ukraine but also countless African states) that it had to end like this. I’ve always loved the design of the AN-22, such an interesting design and concept. There’s just something about old Soviet designs that I get really interested in.

Nice plane, but why are front and rear landing separated from each other? Economical reasons? Less landing fee?
