    1. So, Bloomberg just dropped an article about how all these new Al data centers might be sucking up resources that could’ve gone to roads, bridges, and other basic infrastructure. Kinda makes you think-are we putting tech before the stuff we actually need every day?

What’s your take? Are Al data centers worth it even if public infrastructure suffers, or should we hit pause and prioritize essentials first?

All while increasing our electric and water bills, and tanking property value. One of those monstrosities employees meds than 50 people

ah great, AI is gonna take the roads to our jobs before taking our jobs

    4. Has there been even a single positive impact of these so called „AI“ companies with their hallucinating LLMs? I have yet to see anything.

Yes, I am aware that there are some forms of ML that is moving in the direction of creating „AI“ that can be used for cancer research and such. But I am not talking about those, I am specifically asking about the companies that are going the mass appeal route. The OpenAIs and Copilots of the world. Have they contributed anything of positive note to society?

The world has survived up until now without data centers. Why do we need so much data and monsterous places to keep it? Taking a tourist attraction and seeing busses loaded with tourists all taking hundreds of pictures to up load to their cloud storage. All of the same frickin attraction x 1,000,000 to be forgotten in time. Plain stupid to me.

    6. Guys, it’s worth it. A souped up search engine & big web aggregator is more important than basic transportation and road safety.

This is such a dumb story, do they say the same for every large construction project? Post better wages and attract more people to the field, that’s how things are supposed to work.
