More legislation that doesn’t make sense proposed by people who fundamentally don’t understand technology

I wonder if they will be like the highly effective age-assurance methods currently employed that are defeated by VPNs and Death Stranding photo mode.
The Amendment is unlikely to be added to the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill but everyone still needs to call this out!
And its a lib dem lord pushing this and the other lib dems are calling her out on it.

Why don’t they just ban children? They’re clearly such a danger to themselves, it’s for the best at this point, the fuckers can’t do anything right
One could quip that if one had instead banned Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor from using VPNs or for that matter, using children, a lot of sorrow could have been saved in advance.

Anything and everything they can to get people to upload their IDs to the internet and have 100% confirmation of who’s posting what.

That’s actually a crazy work around to the problem of it being technically impossible to truly block VPNs. Just put the stupid age check in front of the VPN, which will work on any legitimate VPN company.

There are a handful of broadband ISPs in the UK.
And presumably most children have parents or guardians who pay phone and internet bills.
There must be a better solution than what is effectively banning petrol to prevent kids joyriding.

How’s this going to work? My kids phone is permanently connected to my self hosted VPN, so the device is basically always on my home network, where I can control web and other traffic on their device.
They’re gonna make it illegal to regulate my kids internet activity?
