For those outside of New York.
This is pretty much the nail in the coffin of whether I will vote for her. To have my support, she needed to demonstrate that she is working for the people, and not just playing the game. She hasn’t done that.
I know whoever the republican candidate is will very likely be the same or worse, but I refuse to vote for corporate politicians any more, regardless of the alternatives. Only public servants get my support. Period.
And tell me again how people think we live in a democratic republic?

Awesome. This is the best thing she’s done this term.
People should be free to develop and run uncensored AI models, aligned however they like. The government has no business telling people what type of software they can develop and run on their own computers.
AI safety regulation is bad for open source and has the risk of making all AI models closed source services ran by corporations.
I mean, yeah of course. IBM has a pretty strong presence near Albany. And with them going all-in on AI, it makes sense that they would have paid her off nicely
This is why she was almost booed off stage with chants of „Tax the Rich“ the last time she appeared with Mamdani.
Gonna get downvoted for this but I don’t think we want 50 states passing 50 AI bills.
We should have one comprehensive federal framework on it.
The problem is that no one trusts the federal government to regulate anything right now.
The other problem is that regulating AI can and will piss off very wealthy people in Sillicon Valley who will be more motivated to influence the 2028 election.
I think democrats should hold off on regulating AI, win back control of Congress, then push a comprehensive common sense framework on AI.
