I saw a clip from this hearing and what stood out to me was the moment that Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) confronted Noem about the treatment of Cary López Alvarado, a pregnant U.S. citizen who was thrown to the ground, kicked, and left in handcuffs for hours because the immigration officers who detained her didn’t believe she was a citizen. She ended up losing the baby.
I hate Noem, Patel, and Hegesth, but I’d rather they keep them where they are, *because* they are active burdens to their posts, than opening up their postions for anyone whose effective for the admin.
And when you think about what these guys believe, it was likely intentional. They believe in the racist great replacement theory. Preventing births of nonwhite people would be the aim of people like this.
