I’m not Irish or English, but I understand why this is happening. Both have more things in common than the people who is coming to Europe. It makes sense to ally with someone who is a bit different from you that ally with someone who is completely different.
This same decision is made every summer when English teams like Liverpool and United play friendlies here, nothing to do with the patriots
