Der Amazon-Lieferant hat ein Paket, das ich bestellt habe, in dem Gebäude gelassen, in dem ich wohne, während ich bei der Arbeit war. Als ich nach Hause kam, war es offensichtlich zerrissen, aber es wurde nichts herausgenommen. Das Paket enthielt nur wenige Billigartikel, weshalb der Dieb vielleicht kein Interesse hatte? Da das Gebäude angeblich Kameras am Eingang hat, sollte ich versuchen, eskalieren und nach den Aufnahmen fragen? Oder würde man mir sagen, dass nichts getan werden kann, da nichts gestohlen wurde? Was soll ich in dieser Situation tun?

You can’t accuse someone of theft b/c nothing was taken, but definitely check the video and press charges if it’s illegal to open someone’s mail.
Best get the almost police involved.
Imagine the next time there’s something really expensive in it that you were very much looking forward to and it got stolen.
Would you wish that you would’ve called the police now?
Check if you can get the tape and if it is even legal to record there in the first place. Might not always be that clear cut and then get Police involved.
For the forseeable future, maybe order things to the next Amazon locker, Paketstation etc.
Perhaps somebody didn’t read the label and thought it was theirs. It does happen. Amazon left some packages on my doorstep, I opened them and did notice that one was not for me but for my neighbour. I went to him and explained what happened but I can totally think of a situation where someone leaves a package just on the right doorstep after opening it by accident…
Id get in contact with house management and get it checked out. Next time you may order something of more value.
I would try to make a report, if the cops won’t do anything about they may at least record that it happened in case it happens for real or maybe if itbhappened to others in your vicinity, could help build a case in the unlikely event they find a perp.
Pay it forward. It might save someone elses‘ package.
