My sister is maga and before dump started doing all kinds of stuff she didn’t agree with, she was dems this, trans that. Doing the holidays.
I had to tell her many times before your team won and yet you guys seems more upset then before.
That i didn’t come there to eat her free food, drink her free wines, put my feet up on her table, and pay nothing while visiting her to hear that stuff lol

So people cutting off family members and all that: Good for you, but these siblings are about as tight as you can expect. Real life isn’t like in the movies where families are attached at the hip forever.

My family will talk about you when you are around or not , tear you down & build you up, Well I had enough of that & I estranged myself from them . No regrets about doing that .
As far as I know they both have been pretty oblique about their childhoods. Offhand remarks Jason has made on Smartless don’t suggest it was idyllic. They were the bread winners from a young age which rarely results in an ideal childhood.
I remember my brother worrying about this. He’s conservative, I’m not. And I told him that family is very important to me, he could vote however he liked, that I would call him an idiot for it if I think it was idiotic but I would never stop talking to him.
Frankly, I find people incapable of maintaining a relationship for political disagreement pathetic. There are absolutely reasons to cut family members out of your life. Politics aint it.

I didn’t know he had a sister until now. Seems like a nice, even-keeled person.
I saw Justine Bateman in an off Broadway production of “The Crucible” in the early 1990s.
Im living in the u.k and born Irish so I am not living this MAGA situation as you all are. I don’t think I could cut off family members because of political leanings, h as it gotten really bad in theU.S? Is the maga thing genuinely weird like a cult mind thing? Or is it just the usual right leaning political position?
