      You hassle third world countries to shake them down for bribes. There isn’t any point in trying it with a rule of law country. That is why Trump hates Europe and sees them as infinitely more evil and threatening than Russia. He’s just trying to get a sovereign wealth fund to slip him some side dough and then he will back off just enough that he can put the screws back for another shakedown later. This happens domestically with him going after lawfirms and newspapers and colleges.

      What I wonder is the international reaction. At the end of the day, not even Putin or Xi give a shit about Maduro, and the reaction to attackinn Venezuela won’t go beyond reproaching statements from a number of countries.

      But Colombia is recognized worlwide as a democracy, and we are in pretty good terms with the international community. Hell, we’re a global partner of NATO. We may not have direct defensive alliances with other countries, but I don’t think Europe or Canada can simply stand seeing a friendly country being attacked simply because their president was badmouthing Trump.
