      Trump gets upset that china advances rapidly in AI and in every other part of the tech industry but then gives the green light to an American company to sell gpu’s that will help China in the tech industry. What the fu**?

      What a saga. I *think* it went like this:

      1. US to Nvidia/AMD: You can’t sell H200/MI300 to China. Please make lower spec versions

      2. Nvidia/AMD make H20/MI308 GPUs.

      3. US: Actually you can’t sell any chips to China.

      4. US: OK you can sell H20/MI308 if you give is a 15% cut

      5. China: We’re banning all US made GPUs

      6. US: Actually you can sell H200/MI300 to China if you give us a 25% cut

      7. China: Sounds good to me!

      I see „TACO“ Trump a lot. I figured it was some kind of insult and had something to do with him either looking like a taco or coloured like taco seasoning or something.

      My wife and I got into a conversation where TACO came up and I decided it was finally time to look up the origins of the word. So, it stands for Trump Always Chickens Out.

      Now, everything makes sense.

      China ai bad and america needs to beat them so ban regulations for 10 years, but also let’s sell the main ai chips to China. No we definitely care about beating China and its not at all about making the tech bros more wealthy because they helped trump win or anything
