Thought I had become insensitive, but I have to be honest, that’s enough for me… At least for today.
I know there have been a lot of „combat suicides“ like this one, where there really isn’t much of an option besides a slow excruciating death. It seems kind of crazy, but I can almost wrap my mind around how a person would come to that conclusion.
I’d be curious to know what the suicide rate is outside of those instances. I know that suicide prevention is a huge issue in the US Military. I can’t imagine what the rate is for the Russian Army, given that a lot of conscripts know exactly what’s going to happen to them on the assault. Does anyone know if this is a huge issue for the Russian military? I’d think with the high rate of drug and alcohol abuse, as well as the physical and emotional beatings we’ve seen they give to conscripts, that the suicide rate would be sky-high.
