We’re really drowning in peace
Out of all of the german chancellors I respect Willy Brandt the most.
I love to show this photo to russian so-called “opposition” when they saying that remove putin and russia will be friends with Ukraine. For some weird reason even they can’t imagine any russian president kneeling like that before monument to Ukrainians murdered by russia

And here we are 55 years later, their new chancellor is having the time of his life in Israel.
He himself had nothing to do with the Nazis; in fact, they even stripped him of his German citizenship. And yet he knelt in the name of Germany.
Germany has been on its knees for too long, and now it can’t stand on its own. The whole split between Europe and the US is a death sentence for Europe as it currently stands. But that’s a good thing.
That was very needed gesture for the whole process of future PL-DE reconciliation
Brandt spoke pretty much perfect Norwegian, which always went down really well here
Pathetic. Why humiliate yourself for someone else’s fault?
The gesture of kneeling in humility before someone’s sufferings is so incredibly respectful, strong and dignified… It’s a shame to see it depicted as a sign of weakness by people with a complete lack of spine and principles.
It should be noted that Willy Brandt was also the one that started with the import of Russian gas, as part of his „Ostpolitik“ which got him the Nobel Peace Prize. The first delivery contract was signed in 1970.

Willi Brandt was not his name.
It’s the name he adopted to hide from the nazis. He officially changed his name 1949, and assumed his “Tarnname” officially.
Literally learned about this a few weeks ago in my German citizenship class and it was as impactful then as seeing the picture again now. History needs more leaders like this.
Yeah, the Warssw uprising was pretty horrific in a war notoriously horrific.
You know what folks? As a Polish citizen I hated Germans for so long but in last years I realized we all are different people and then I went to Berlin and other German cities and I really like to back there, Im travelling there for years now and basically maybe I become soft or I dont know but therebl is no hate in me anymore, I think about German people as friends to Polish nation and I wish its the same way of thinking from other side of Oder/Odra (the river between our countries).
It was different times, Im sure today we would stand as one if there would be military problem. Were neighbors, we shouldn’t let anyone to put us against each other anymore. 🤝💪
