What’s wild about it is half the tree has gotten buried over time (obv why the branches are popping out of the ground in random places) the trunk of the tree could be 10 feet down. I have a very similar tree (but even crazier) about a mile from my house (it’s protected and need permission to see it) and it’s 1500 ish yrs old.

The tree is not crazy, it’s perfectly sane. It’s just doing what trees do when they are allowed to do their own thing.
